Aquilia, debut model for ICYacht, convinces and seduces
The boat recalls the evergreen modern-classic design, merging elegant lines with a sporty and aggressive character.
Add to this a high tech construction for a 31 feeter, with infused resin and use of kevlar and carbon fiber in order to strengthen the structure and save weight. All of this means high performance and low fuel consumption. The shipyard provides big margins of customization, with choices of materials, wood trims, decors, and a palette of 10 colours for the hull. But that's not it: the design department is available to discuss different layouts. The two pieces astern the driver and co-driver seats include all the necessary for an open air rest time, like a sink and a grill. The rounded, full beam transom couch can change into a big sunpad. Below deck, we would have liked to find a head, which could be easily fitted considering a 5ft 3in height.

The test of Aquilia

The Garda Lake is calm, so we work on the trim tabs and reach 41 knots of speed, in a smooth progression and pretty steady balance - provided you don't look for the top performance. The hull forgives patiently even some sharp turns. At a cruising speed of around 25 knots we reckon a fuel consumption of 40 liters per hour (10,5gph), while slowing down to the minimum planing speed the instruments read 13 knots and 14 lph (3,7gph).
